WE RECEIVED A GRANT OF £810 FROM DRAX

Past club president Maggie has always been passionate about blister packs that our medicine comes in – and is often thrown away into landfill/energy combustion – when it can be split down and used to manufacture useful items like pallets and receptacles.
Working with local company the MY Group, who recycle the empty blister packs and manufacture the useable items, big green pallets are delivered to the lock-up we use. Blister packs collected from ordinary household wheelie bins strategically placed outside The Maltings Tea Rooms are moved every week to the pallet until it is full.
We have always paid for these pallets to be delivered and uplifted, however a meeting with Drax Power Station and their Community and Charity Committee – and a formal application – means that Drax now pay the bill for 2 pallets from the MY Group over 12 months.

We are now covered for 12 months and look forward to collecting more and more empty blister packs.
