£10 buys you a pie and pea supper (assorted pies and beans instead of peas if you want) and 8 horse races to bet on with the chance to back the winner!

    Derwent Lions Summer concert for Ukraine

    Derwent Lions Club’s next big event is a summer concert, this year a Concert for Ukraine, raising money for the Disasters Emergency Committee Humanitarian appeal. Attached is a poster advertising the event.

    We have been lucky to sign up two excellent performers, the choir and the band and are hoping for a big response in ticket sales. If anyone wants tickets then happy to be contacted and arrange this.

    Pub quiz 2021

    We’re back in action with live events, the first of which will be our Inter Pub Quiz on Friday 22nd October at 8:30pm – 100 quickfire questions in 30 minutes.

    The winners will have answered the most questions in the shortest time and will receive a framed certificate to hang on the pub wall.

    The pub which raises the most money will also receive a framed certificate to that effect.

    Message in a Bottle

    This is a voluntary scheme for anybody living at home, who might be reassured to know that essential information would be readily available to the Emergency Services – not only to identify you, but to advise on relevant illnesses, allergies, medicaiton and contact addresses should you suffer an accident or sudden illness.
    The ‘bottle’ contains a sheet which you complete with all your details plus a sticker to go on the outside of your fridge and the inside of your front door alert the Emergency Services and you pop the ‘bottle’ in your fridge with completed details.
    If you feel this would be good for you – please contact us or South Milford Surgery – we will be happy to supply you with a pack.

    Online Race Night Saturday 15th May at a house near you

    Online Race Night to raise funds for local causes within the Sherburn in Elmet area.
    Starters orders will be around 7pm
