Another of the 13 pubs taking part in our 100 questions in 30 minutes inter pub challenge on the 21st October is the Blacksmiths Arms Biggin.
Message in a Bottle
More than 6 million Message in a Bottle kits have been distributed by Lions Clubs in the British Isles to people with conditions such as diabetes, allergies, disabilities and life-threatening illnesses.
Clubs are able to provide Message in a Bottle within their local communities free of charge thanks to fund-raising and generous donations from the public and businesses. It is not just vulnerable people who benefit from Message in a Bottle. Anyone with health conditions could have an accident at home.
The Message in a Bottle kit includes a form, where personal and medical information is detailed. This is placed in the bottle (with its distinctive green branding), which is stored in the fridge. Two stickers are provided: one for the fridge door and the other for the inside of the front door of the premises.

Little Troopers
This is Hannah Atkinson. I received a message from the Selby Times informing me that you had made a huge donation to Little Troopers after seeing our article in the paper.
My Mum and I would like to send a huge thank you for your support and for your donation to Little Troopers.
Little Troopers is an amazing charity which supports military children (which often get forgotten about!). They have really helped my children whilst their Daddy has been deployed on his submarine in the past and I know the money will help them to continue supporting children like my own.

Derwent Lions Summer concert for Ukraine
Derwent Lions Club’s next big event is a summer concert, this year a Concert for Ukraine, raising money for the Disasters Emergency Committee Humanitarian appeal. Attached is a poster advertising the event.
We have been lucky to sign up two excellent performers, the choir and the band and are hoping for a big response in ticket sales. If anyone wants tickets then happy to be contacted and arrange this.
